Our client is a substantial UK construction consultancy whose Project Management services have an excellent reputation. They are presently seeking to appoint a Senior Rail Consultant to their Transport Division based in either their London or Manchester office. The post holder will be responsible for developing and securing new business opportunities and developing relationships with both Train Operating Companies and Regional Rail Operators throughout the UK. This is an opportunity to grow a team, lead projects and support and inspire team members to deliver high value consultancy services. The business development aspect of the role will require that excellent relationships are developed and maintained with clients and other third parties whilst opportunities for future work are identified. Suitable candidates will be independent self-starters with an entrepreneurial approach to business development and is likely to possess extensive working knowledge of and strong relationships with senior staff within UK train operating companies. Furthermore they will be a confident and inspiring leader, an effective communicator, be capable of operating autonomously within predefined parameters and be able to capture client requirements and scope and cost a project. Applications are invited from candidates with sound commercial awareness, financial modelling skills, knowledge and experience of project planning and an understanding of the issues facing the public sector. Applicants who are Prince 2 qualified or hold and equivalent Project Management Qualification will be at an advantage.
