Our client is currently seeking a freelance Highways Engineer to act as cover for an existing member of staff who is going on maternity leave. Suitable candidates will have substantial design office experience gained in either a local authority or consultancy environment. Applicants will be expected to have experience of both AutoCAD and PDS, and any knowledge of Windes, MicroDrainage or similar package would be advantageous. Applications are invited from candidates who are capable of undertaking Highways Design works with minimal supervision as well as providing a confident and assertive presence on site when required. This contract is expected to start in April 2009 with an anticipated duration of just over 12 months and attracts a competitive market rate.
